As many people know, the most important part of any EDM song is the bass kicks. These provide the adrenaline to the audience and give a solid beat for listeners. The bass kicks and the bass is what people dance to. Without these, the melodic sounds would not have any characteristics that would make it an EDM song. However, you might be thinking, all songs have a bass kick. However an EDM kick has certain characteristics and qualities that make it more memorable and danceable. The kick of the bass must occur and slowly fade out with the notes. As you can see from the picture above, the waves represent the frequency and they are slowly decreasing and making smaller frequency waves, indicating that the drum kick is fading out. This is very important because it will flow with the other notes. Along with frequency, what's important is also the distortion of the drum kick and the Equalizer. You don't want the sound of the drums to wear out the sound of the melody, so you would have to control it's distortion level, and use the equalizer to disable any excess amount of sounds to be played.
